A large mining company operating coal mines in the Bowen basin region produces a waste stream from workshops on site used to maintain and wash mining vehicles and equipment. The wastewater pit that collects the washdowns is high in oils & grease and metal fines and must me regularly treated to avoid spillage of contaminants in the environment.
