Securing Water Supply

A new coal mine in the Bowen basin has been provided with a connection to river water for all of its uses on site. The river water is susceptible to seasonal fluctuations in turbidity, colour and also algal blooms in warmer months.

Integrated Water Treatment Solution

Akvotek has designed and installed an integrated solution using Koch’s Puron MP high solids tolerant UF membranes to deliver a reliable source of water for use in production as well as on the camp site.

The integrated 120m3/day treatment solution comprises a self-cleaning screen, chemical dosing system, ultrafiltration stage, activated carbon filter and chlorination for residual disinfection.
